Four people displaced following house fire in Ogden

VIDEO: Four people are now displaced after a fire caused heavy damage to a house in Ogden early Wednesday morning. According to Randy Thompsen, Fire Chief of the Ogden Royal Fire Protection District, crews responded to a house fire in the 200 block of E Kyle Street in Ogden at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews observed fire coming out of the back corner of a two-story house. Fire crews were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes, but stayed on the scene for about three hours to check for hot spots and complete an overhaul of the residence. Thompsen said that at least two rooms in the house, which was described as an “older” residence, suffered heavy fire damage, with the rest of the residence experiencing smoke, heat and water damage. A house next door experienced slight heat damage with siding on the residence melting, but outside of that, no serious extension was reported from the initial residence.
