Firefighters rescued two residents and paramedics evaluated them after a fire broke out in a house in Woodstock Saturday morning, fire officials said. The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 7:42 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of East Todd Avenue in Woodstock for a report of a house fire with people trapped.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said firefighters arrived within three minutes and found smoke showing from a single-story residence. The incident was upgraded to a Working Fire upon arrival, prompting the response of additional neighboring fire agencies.
Firefighters quickly entered the home and located two occupants who were unable to exit on their own due to limited mobility, Vucha said. Both were safely removed as crews worked to extinguish the fire, which was contained within minutes to a bedroom.
