Fire leaves large barn fully engulfed in flames in Barrington Hills

No animals or people were harmed after a fire left a large barn fully engulfed in flames, prompting the response of numerous fire departments, in Barrington Hills, fire officials said. The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District and Barrington Hills Police Department responded around 9:50 p.m. Saturday to the first block of Porter School Road in Barrington Hills for a report of a structure fire.

Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District Fire Chief Scott Motisi said a 911 caller reported that a barn-style structure was engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived and found a large, single-story barn that was fully engulfed in flames.

The incident was upgraded to a Code 4 working fire response, prompting the response of numerous additional fire departments, Motisi said. Fire crews worked to pull hose lines and extinguish the fire while protecting nearby structures.
