VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Bismarck Community Fire Protection District held a vehicle extrication training this past weekend. On Saturday, the training focused on the basics of extrication to teach two probationary firefighters. The participants learned hands-on how to use the tools on their fire trucks in the case of needing to use them during a vehicle accident. Carnaghi Towing and Repair provided the fire district with vehicles that they were able to practice extrications on. The vehicles provided gave the firefighters a chance to learn what they need to do when getting on the scene and how to properly use the tools throughout the whole extrication process. In the near future, the fire district is also conducting a mock accident event with the Bismarck-Henning Rossville-Alvin Cooperative High School. This demonstration will show what happens during an accident and what the fire department and EMS agencies go through to get patients out of their vehicles.
