Meridian holds 9/11 memorial ceremony honoring victims and first responders

The City of Meridian held a Memorial Ceremony to honor the victims and first responders of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The ceremony took place on Thursday at 6:40 a.m. at the Meridian Police Department.

The event featured the National Moment of Silence, a flag-lowering ceremony, and brief comments from Meridian dignitaries and first responders. Meridian Mayor Robert Simison, Meridian Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea, members of the Meridian City Council, and representatives from the Meridian Police and Fire Departments participated in the ceremony.
