A garage fire spread to destroy an entire single-family residence, leaving the home a total loss and killing two dogs. According to Caldwell Fire, the people escaped the home before the fire extended from the garage to the rest of the structure. However, the family’s two dogs perished in the incident. The fire happened on Monday, Aug. 18, around 5:00 p.m. on the 1500 block of N. Plateau Avenue. The fire remains under investigation but appears to be accidental. Caldwell Fire responded to the scene along with crews and personnel from Mid Star Fire, Nampa Fire, Wilder Fire and Canyon County Paramedics. Officials coordinated relief efforts for the victims.
