As colder weather approaches, the Lewiston Fire Department reminds residents to use caution when utilizing heat lamps around animals or in outbuildings. Heat lamps can easily ignite nearby combustible materials if they are not properly secured, maintained, or positioned at a safe distance. Residents are encouraged to follow manufacturer guidelines, inspect equipment regularly, and consider safer alternative heating options when possible.
