Firefighters, sheriff’s deputies respond to brush fire near American Falls

On Tuesday, April 15th at approximately 2:50 p.m., the Power County Sheriffโ€™s Office received a 911 call reporting a brush fire in the area of Kopp Road near the railroad tracks.

Multiple units from the Power County Fire Department and Power County Sheriffโ€™s Office were immediately dispatched to the scene, with additional support provided by the Fort Hall Fire Department.

Crews worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures and vegetation. About four acres burned. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No injuries have been reported at this time. The area is still smoldering and is being supervised by local agencies. The Power County Sheriffโ€™s Office and Fire Department would like to thank all responding agencies and community members for their prompt action and support.
