At 12:24 p.m. Wednesday, Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at the 3000 block of E. Main Street.
Lewiston Police arrived first and used a fire extinguisher to begin suppression efforts. Upon arrival, fire crews found the residence filled with smoke and an active fire on the stove. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and conducted a search of the home, rescuing two dogs from inside.
The response included three structural engines, three ambulances, one chief officer, and two fire inspectors, totaling 18 personnel from Lewiston. Clarkston Fire also responded with one engine and four personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Estimated damage to the structure and contents is between $10,000 and $15,000. No injuries were reported, and both dogs survived.
