Coeur d’Alene fire engineer’s condition improves after third surgery

Firefighter-Engineer Dave Tysdal, who suffered severe injuries, is showing signs of improvement, according to Deputy Fire Marshal Craig Etherton. Tysdal’s condition has been upgraded from critical to stable following a third successful surgery. “Dave is still in the ICU,” said Etherton. “He suffered severe chest trauma and is now off a ventilator and talking.” Tysdal also sustained spinal trauma during the incident.
