Residential building fire extinguished near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a residential building fire in the Hale Moku military housing community near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Sunday night, Oct. 12. A 911 call came in at 9:22 p.m. about a building fire at 3343 Smith Circle, according to HFD. Crews arrived on the scene to find smoke coming from a small, residential duplex home.

By 9:47 p.m., firefighters had fully extinguished the fire. After a search of the building confirmed that no occupants were inside the home, firefighters worked to remove and extinguish any smoldering materials to make sure the fire would not extend to other areas of the residence. No injuries were reported. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and the estimated damages costs.
