Manoa fire displaces one person; woman treated for smoke inhalation

One person was displaced following a home fire that was reported on Koaniani Way early Thursday morning. The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a two-story residential structure at 3:28 a.m. to find a fire with heavy black smoke.

Crews brought the fire under control at 3:56 a.m. and fully extinguished it at 4:12 a.m. As a result of the fire, the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene to treat a woman believed to be in her 70s. EMS reported that they treated her for possible smoke inhalation and she declined to be taken to an emergency room.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with one firefighter being evaluated at the scene and refused treatment. Firefighters conducted searches of the home and confirmed that no one else was inside during the time of the fire.
