Man dies after UTV crash in Waimanalo, another man in serious condition

A man has died after a collision occurred in the Waimanalo area that involved a utility task vehicle. According to officials, a 30-year-old man was driving a utility task vehicle northbound on Hihimanu St. when it disregarded a posted stop sign at the intersection of Kalanianaole Hwy and collided with a 74-year-old driver. The 74-year-old was driving eastbound on Kalanianaole Hwy when it caused the utility vehicle to rollover. The 30-year-old man was then ejected onto the roadway. As a result of the collision, the 30-year-old driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries. The 74-year-old driver was also taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. It’s unknown at this time if speed, drugs, or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision.
