Kauai firefighters rescued a tourist Tuesday after he injured his head while hiking on the Kalalau Trail. According to the Kauai Fire Department, the emergency call came in around 9:35 a.m. Firefighters arrived at the scene and discovered the 58-year-old hiker near the 1.5-mile marker landing zone, said KFD. Rescuers administered first aid to the hiker and escorted him to a rescue helicopter. The hiker was flown to Princeville Airport, where American Medical Response paramedics took over medical care. The scene was cleared at around 11:15 a.m.
