The Honolulu Fire Department extinguished a fire at the Wahiawa L&L Drive Inn. The call came in at around 3 p.m. Sunday for a commercial building fire on the 100 block of S. Kamehameha Highway. Crews arrived shortly after to find the occupants actively evacuating and smoke coming from the roof of the single-story restaurant.
Firefighters secured a water supply and brought the fire under control at 3:18 p.m. and fully extinguished it 11 minutes later. No one was hurt. HFD said overhaul techniques were performed to extinguish smoldering materials while searching for hidden fires to ensure the fire did not spread to other buildings. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
