Van catches fire outside of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A van caught fire at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday evening, leading to traffic congestion. Video shows the front of the van engulfed in flames, with heavy smoke billowing from it, as a crew works to extinguish the fire. โ€œAt approximately 7:33 p.m. this evening, a report was received of smoke coming from the glove compartment of a vehicle parked at the South Curb of Hartsfield-Jackson. The vehicle subsequently caught fire,โ€ a spokesperson for the airport said. The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department quickly responded and extinguished the fire, according to the spokesperson. As a precaution, all traffic was being temporarily diverted to the South Lower Level. Airport customer service employees were redirecting passengers from the area, said the spokesperson. No injuries have been reported.
