Smyrna puppy who survived house fire finds permanent home – with firefighter

PHOTOS: A Georgia puppy who survived a house fire has found the perfect forever home: with a firefighter. Half Pint, the smallest of his litter, was rescued as a newborn after flames tore through a home. His brave mother gave her life shielding her babies from the fire so they could live. Now, months later, the last puppy from that litter has been adopted, by someone who knows all too well what it means to run toward danger to save lives. His new family gave him a new name: Chief. And he now has two brothers and a sister in his new home. The rescue group Bosley’s Place in Smyrna had cared for him since he was just days old. They said Chief was all joy, always smiling, tail wagging, and eager to love. He’s smart, sweet, and loves fetch, making fast friends with kids, cats, and other dogs. After everything he’s been through, Chief finally has the life he deserves — and a hero by his side.
