VIDEO: A fire erupted at a Rockdale County auto body repair shop causing a massive amount of smoke to blow into the sky early Thursday evening. The shopโs address on Iris Road is listed as MHC Kenworth-East Atlanta and services semi-trucks. Alexis Massey, who lives nearby said she could see the smoke from her backyard. โ[I] came out to see what it was and saw the garage on fire,โ she said. Rockdale County officials said they received a call about the fire at 5:14 p.m. Fire crews responded quickly and were on scene six minutes later. โThe firefighters were out trying to hose it down, and then it started lightning, and then when the gust of wind came, it just made it worse,โ Massey said. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but they said it started on the right side of the bay area. The business was open and employees were working on the trucks at the time.
