Crews were at the scene of a fire in southeast Atlanta early Tuesday morning, which was the scene of a previous blaze that happened last year. The fire was reported at a mulch-making company at 2100 Jonesboro Road SE near the Lakewood Heights neighborhood. Atlanta Fire and Rescue trucks were at the scene while firefighters were in the back end of the lot. The cause of the fire has not been confirmed; however, mulch is known to accumulate heat. With little to no rain over a while, a pile of mulch can spontaneously combust and create a fire. Back in September, a three-story-high mulch patch caught fire at this same site, and it raged on for about four days.
