Decatur County unveils new Emergency Services Center building

VIDEO: Decatur County is set to construct a new โ€œEmergency Services Centerโ€ that will house its fire department headquarters, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the 911 dispatch center, county officials said. The county said the building will be โ€œmodern and efficientโ€ as they are looking for it to handle hurricane-force winds for better response capabilities. Commissioner Pete Stephens shared he hopes expanding resources like this will push Decatur County toward a promising future. โ€œWe want controlled growth that would continue to give our people the benefit to keep our children at home with jobs,โ€ he said. Stephens said he believes this new building will make a huge difference for residents and first responders. โ€œIt goes back to safety again and protecting them as well as our citizens with it being there in one area,โ€ he said.
