VIDEO: Decatur County is set to construct a new โEmergency Services Centerโ that will house its fire department headquarters, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the 911 dispatch center, county officials said. The county said the building will be โmodern and efficientโ as they are looking for it to handle hurricane-force winds for better response capabilities. Commissioner Pete Stephens shared he hopes expanding resources like this will push Decatur County toward a promising future. โWe want controlled growth that would continue to give our people the benefit to keep our children at home with jobs,โ he said. Stephens said he believes this new building will make a huge difference for residents and first responders. โIt goes back to safety again and protecting them as well as our citizens with it being there in one area,โ he said.
