VIDEO: Fire crews from multiple counties responded to two separate fires in Candler County Saturday, as a structure fire in the Aline community was quickly followed by a second blaze in the city of Metter. Metter Fire Rescue was first dispatched to a residential structure fire on Mt. Olive Road in Aline. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and rapidly spreading flames. Due to the scale of the fire, additional resources were called in from Emanuel and Tattnall counties. While firefighters were still working that scene, a second call came in reporting a shed fire within Metter city limits. Thanks to support from Twin City and Reidsville fire departments, that fire was quickly contained. Emergency officials credited the coordinated regional response with preventing further damage. โWe are incredibly proud of the teamwork and dedication shown by all agencies involved,โ Metter Fire Rescue said in a statement.
