Two livestock animals died during a garage fire in Cherokee County on Sunday morning. According to Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES), crews responded to the fire on Wheeler Drive near Hunt Road before 8:30 a.m. Firefighters arrived to see a garage in a large blaze, with flames reaching to the back of a nearby boat. Fire services said “crews acted quickly to search the structure and extinguish the blaze,” keeping it from damaging the home and property next to it. No one was injured during the fire, but two chickens died in it. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to fire services.
