Pensacola Fire Department rescues man from silo

PHOTOS: Pensacola firefighters rescued a man from the top of a silo Wednesday evening, News 5 has learned. According to a City of Pensacola Facebook post, crews were called to the scene after hearing about an unconscious person on top of a silo. Engine 2 and Ladder 11 responded, and firefighters were able to reach the man with the ladder, the post said. Escambia County Squad 3 was on standby for a possible rope rescue, according to the post. “Crews made contact with the patient, who was alert and oriented, but unsteady,” the post said. The man was lowered safely into the bucket, according to officials. No information on what caused him to pass out or his current condition was available.
