Pace Fire District celebrates grand opening of 24-hour staffed Fire Station #4

A grand opening was held for a new fire station in Pace Saturday morning. Fire Station #4 is located on 7341 Chumuckla Highway. It will operate around the clock. Five firefighters are currently staffed on-duty.

“A few years back, we had a vision of opening a 24-hour staffed fire station here [Pace] in the North end of our district,” said Pace Fire District Chief Robbie Whitfield. “Today, we fulfilled that commitment to our citizens and the vision we had.”

They aim to offer increased protections to residents. The station has one truck at the moment, but the second will arrive in a few weeks. More equipment is expected within the coming months.
