Home destroyed in Escambia County fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire destroyed a home in Escambia County Monday morning. Firefighters were called to the home on Milestone Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. They found flames in the garage and attic. “It was just boiling out the back of the house, there it was high,” neighbor Dale Wilson said. “An hour later, that house is gone.” Though the biggest cause for concern, the houses next door. “When we got here, our primary purpose was to save those two houses,” Escambia County Battalion Chief Steve Boothe said. “You can see how close these houses are, that’s one of our main concerns is the exposures.” Boothe says while the house where the fire started was a priority, they had to make sure they contained the fire so it wouldn’t spread down the block.
