The Fort Walton Beach Fire Department will be hosting a “Changing of the Guard” Ceremony on Friday, July 18. FWBFD Chief Jeremy Morgan will be retiring after working in the city for 25 years, according to a news release. The new fire chief, Thearon Shipman, will be sworn in at the ceremony. He has been with the FWBFD for 22 years. The ceremony will take place at Station 6, 5 Hollywood Boulevard SE, at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
