VIDEO: A dangerous mixture of materials caused a house fire along 11th Street West in Lehigh Acres on Thursday morning. According to Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, firefighters responded to a call about a house fire at a Lehigh Acres home around 10:30 a.m. Lehigh Fire said that no one was inside the home, and that a neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the house.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and a dog was rescued from the home. The house is considered a total loss. According to Lehigh Fire, the fire was caused by mixing the wrong materials together on the side of the house, inside a shed.
Lithium batteries, aerosols and gasoline were all reportedly stored together, which is a bad combination to have in the same area, Lehigh Fire said. Lehigh Fire said if uncontained, the fire could have spread to the house next door.
