Bonita Springs Fire Control provides pleasant update to battalion chief recovery from I-75 crash

Bonita Springs Battalion Chief Jeff Millican took a significant step in his recovery journey. He was transferred from Gulf Coast Hospital’s ICU to The Shepherd Center in Georgia, one of the nation’s top rehabilitation hospitals.

Millican spent the last month battling after being struck while working on the interstate. His resilience and determination have inspired his community.

The Shepherd Center specializes in rehabilitating patients with complex spinal cord and brain injuries, traumatic strokes, and other neurological conditions.

As Millican begins this new phase of healing, the fire community stands firmly behind him, reminding him that no one fights alone.

In September, a serious incident occurred when Millican was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 75. Bonita Springs Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the initial crash just before midnight on September 13. Millican was hit by a car around 12:30 a.m. on September 14.
