Bay County approves construction of new fire station

VIDEO: Fountain residents will soon have a new fire station. The nearly $3.6 million project will go to building the Fountain Community Center right off Highway 20. The 10,000 square-foot brick facility will replace the condemned East Hiland Fire Station. We are told this project will strengthen emergency response in the area. The fire station will be part of a larger Fountain Community Center. “We’ve been working on this for the last four to five years, and we’ve been able to get the funds approved through USDA funds as well as other funds,” said Bay County Commissioner Doug Moore. “From that, we’re gonna be able to build this new complex. It’s gonna be part of the overall sports complex and everything we’re doing over in Fountain.“
