One person suffered burn injuries after a propane explosion happened in a pull-behind camper in Spring Hill. Shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Hernando County Fire Rescue said they responded to reports about a propane explosion, which had caused a fire in the area of Piedmont Drive.
When the firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming out of the camper on the property, fire rescue officials said, and as they worked, they learned that the fire had been extinguished before they arrived.
Firefighters did find a victim who was suffering burn injuries. Paramedics treated the wounded person and transported them to a local burn center, officials said. The wounded person was in stable condition. No injuries were reported for emergency responders, according to HCFR.
“The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental after consultation with the State Fire Marshal’s Office,” a fire rescue spokesperson said.
