One person was hospitalized and a firefighter was transported after a 12-bedroom home went up in flames, Lealman authorities said. Crews from Lealman Fire District, Pinellas Park Fire and St. Petersburg Fire responded to the incident Monday morning.
Firefighters pulled out a man who was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, and one firefighter was also transported for smoke inhalation, officials said. Four additional victims also escaped the house but were not treated, according to a news release. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
