Three reported ill following ‘hazmat incident’ in Northwest DC

A building was evacuated in the Penn Quarter area after a reported hazmat incident on Tuesday.

In a post shared on social media, the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews responded to the 600 block of D Street NW late Tuesday morning.

Officials noted that three people had reported feeling ill from an “unknown cause.” The group was evaluated by EMS at the scene.

The building was evacuated as a precaution as hazmat crews evaluated the reading levels.

Officials stated that all readings were normal, and no hazards were found.
