Man seriously injured after being rescued from burning vehicle in DC

A man was hospitalized overnight after first responders rescued him from a vehicle fire in DC.

Details remain limited; however, the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews were dispatched to 16th Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW around 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 25.

Once on the scene, first responders removed the man from the vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital with “critical injuries,” according to fire officials.

As of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, fire investigators were on the scene, working to determine what caused the vehicle to ignite.
