3 residents, dog displaced by Southeast DC duplex fire

Three people and a dog were displaced by a fire in Southeast DC on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the scene in the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast late in the morning.

When they arrived, smoke could be seen pluming out of the top floor.

Officials said that the crews were able to contain the fire to the second floor of the end row duplex dwelling.

One person was evaluated by emergency personnel on the scene.

Investigators were requested at the scene, but no cause has been publicly released.
