Two Hospitalized After Newark Accident

A pedestrian and a driver were hospitalized Thursday morning after a motor-vehicle collision at East Chestnut Hill Road and Kingston Road in Newark, according to information released by NCCEMS spokeswoman Leslie Antonelli-Hobbs.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 6:50 a.m. and located two injured men upon arrival. Responders reported that a 43-year-old pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. He was in serious condition with extremity injuries and possible internal injuries. New Castle County Paramedics accompanied him on an Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

The driver of the vehicle, also a 43-year-old man, was found in serious condition with head injuries and possible internal injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital by New Castle County Paramedics on an Aetna ambulance.

Responding agencies included New Castle County Paramedics, the Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company, and the Delaware State Police.
