New Castle County firefighters battled a pair of multi-alarm blazes this weekend.
Around 8:15 Friday night, December 26, the New Castle County 9-1-1 Center began receiving multiple calls for a fire in the unit block of Martine Court in Drummond Ridge Townhouses.
Mill Creek Fire Company firefighters arrived first on the scene as Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company was already engaged on another call at the time, and crews reported fire showing from the first and second floors of a two-story end-of-the-row townhouse. A second alarm was immediately sounded.
All occupants of the residence had gotten out safely and firefighters eventually went to a defensive attack based on the structural integrity due to fire damage.
No firefighter injuries were reported and units were on scene for three hours.
Then around 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 27th, Wilmington Manor firefighters arrived on Bellecor Drive to find a one-story commercial warehouse in flames.
