State police say four people were seriously injured after their car ran off Route 2 and rolled several times Tuesday evening. The crash was reported around 6 p.m., in the area of Exit 15. Preliminary investigation showed a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound when it veered off the road and struck a ledge embankment, then overturned several times before coming to a stop in the right-most lane. State police originally said the vehicle also caught fire. All four occupants were transported to a hospital for serious injuries. Of them, state police provided two ages: 17 and 16. Route 2 was closed between exits 13 and 11, but has since reopened. The incident is under investigation.
