A sailboat caught fire in Middlefield on Monday night. The Middlefield and Durham volunteer fire companies responded to an area on the town line for the reported boat fire. They said the vessel was on fire on dry land. While firefighters did not specifically say how the fire started, they warned residents that it was illegal to burn materials in order to dispose of them.
