Emergency crews responded to a fire in Rocky Hill on Sunday morning. Firefighters were called to the area of Laurel Road after a report of a structure fire at around 9 a.m., according to the fire department.
When crews arrived, they found a commercial structure of masonry construction with heavy smoke showing from the front and side. There were occupants within the structure at the time of the fire.
Firefighters quickly tried to put out the fire, but they noticed that the first fire hydrant they used was frozen, but thankfully they were able to access others nearby. No injuries were reported in this incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. No further details were released.
