South Adams County Firefighters rappel 40 feet during freight elevator rescue

PHOTOS: On Tuesday afternoon, firefighters had to rappel about 40 feet to rescue people trapped in a freight elevator, according to a post on X from the South Adams County Fire Department. Crews responded to a report of two people being stuck in a freight elevator near 64th Avenue and Brighton Boulevard.

Several firefighters had to rappel an estimated 40 feet to the top of the freight elevator, where they were able to rescue the two people who were trapped inside. The Denver Fire Department and Platte Valley Ambulance arrived to assist. No injuries were reported in the incident.
