Person, dog rescued from structure fire in Colorado Springs

Firefighters rescued one person and a dog from a structure fire in Colorado Springs Wednesday afternoon. According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), crews responded to the scene at the 4200 block of Deerfield Hills Road just before 2 p.m. The fire department said a person and a dog who were unable to evacuate were rescued from the second floor. Neither were hurt in the incident. Firefighters said the fire was found in the kitchen of the home and was quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
