On Sunday, multiple fire agencies worked together to put out a house fire in Glenwood Springs. At around 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, the Glenwood Springs Fire Department (GSFD) received reports of a home on fire in the Spring Ridge Reserve neighborhood. According to the GSFD, the sprinkler system in the home went off but did not help with fire extinguishing efforts as a bulk of the fire was located in the attic, above the sprinklers’ reach.
Incident Commander Hostetler stated, “All crews performed exceptionally under challenging conditions. I’m proud of their hard work and professionalism throughout the incident. We’re also incredibly grateful to our regional partners who responded through mutual aid—this was a true team effort, and their support was critical to bringing the fire under control.”
The fire was extinguished at 9 p.m. Sunday. Four engines, one ladder truck, one ambulance, an investigation vehicle, and three command vehicles, staffed by eighteen personnel, responded to the scene. No injuries occurred as a result of the fire, and according to GSFD, all “occupants of this residential structure have been reunited with their pets, which include a dog and guinea pigs.” Currently, officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
