A fire broke out in a residential crawl space on the morning of June 4th. At 1:19 a.m., crews with the Grand Junction Fire Department (GJFD) were called to the 300 block of Hopi Drive. According to officials, a resident of the home reported smelling smoke and found a fire in their crawl space, then safely evacuated with the other residents.
GJFD crews removed sections of the house wall to get to the fire and put it out. No injuries were reported, and officials said the residents were not displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
