Five adults and six children displaced by Colorado Springs structure fire

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) reported that around 4 a.m. on Monday, April 28, crews responded to a structure fire that displaced several adults and children. According to CSFD, the fire occurred at a single-family home in the 3300 block of Simmelink Loop, near Hancock Expressway and South Academy Boulevard. Crews were able to knock down the fire by about 4:10 a.m.

CSFD reported that the resulting damage from the fire displaced six adults and five children, but there were no injuries reported. The smoke alarms in the home were working and alerted the family, allowing them to get out safely. CSFD said the fire is under investigation.
