Evacuation order issued in Boulder County due to large fire at Nederland shopping center

VIDEO: An evacuation order has been issued in Boulder County as crews battle a fire at a shopping center in Nederland. The Caribou Village Shopping Center, is home to a substation for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and deputy first reported the fire around 3:40 a.m. Thursday, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said.

It has two floors and houses roughly 15 to 20 businesses. According to the sheriff’s office most of them were impacted in one way or another, including the substation. “The real estate opportunities for business are extremely limited. The livelihood of people is just gone. The rug has been pulled underneath us,” said Angie Seavers, an employee at Tadasana Mountain Yoga. “There no where for these businesses to go. We don’t know what we are going to do. We have no idea. ” 

As a precaution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order due to a fire. The evacuation order is for the areas between Peak-to-Peak and Peakview and Peak-to-Peak and Bridge west to Highway 119 and Hurricane Hill and the areas south of 119 between Bridge and Hurrican Hill, according to the sheriff’s office.
