Douglas County house fire leaves person hurt, dog dead

One person was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after getting injured in a house fire in Colorado. It happened early in the afternoon in unincorporated Douglas County at 5815 Cantrell Court. That’s not far from the intersection of Highway 83 and Pinery Parkway. Firefighters said the fire started in the garage and spread to the house. A dog died in the fire and a cat was saved. Some other human residents of the home got out safely. Firefighters battled the blaze in hot conditions.
