Firefighters were on scene of a fire at a residence in eastern Colorado Springs early Monday afternoon. According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, as of around 12:10 p.m., crews were responding to a home in the 4700 block of Daybreak Circle, in a neighborhood off Oro Blanco Drive, just south of North Carefree Circle. At that time, firefighters said smoke was showing from the home.
At around 12:15, fire officials said a small fire had been located inside, and firefighters had water on the flames and were working to fully extinguish it. As of 12:40, officials said the fire was out. The fire was contained to the residence’s kitchen, and there were no reported injuries. CSFD said the tenant in the home was in the process of moving out, so no one will be displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
