29 Craig residents displaced by apartment fire

The American Red Cross of Western Colorado responded to the Remington Village Apartments in Craig, CO. The Red Cross dispatched a disaster action team of area volunteers to an early morning fire that displaced residents at an apartment complex. The Red Cross worked with the City of Craig and other area partners to set up an evacuation center in order to provide comfort and care to those impacted.

Currently, the Red Cross is supporting 29 people displaced by the fire, comprising 18 adults and 11 children from 12 separate households. Four Red Cross volunteers remain on scene in Craig and are coordinating individual assistance to each household. Currently, volunteer caseworkers are working to identify short and long-term housing arrangements for those displaced and provide other recovery-related assistance.
