VIDEO: A crash involving a Tesla created a fire that enveloped part of the 405 Freeway in Redondo Beach on Friday. The Tesla was involved in a collision on the 405 and exited the freeway at Inglewood Avenue shortly before 11:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle ended up under the freeway, and a fire created plumes of smoke that drifted up to the 405. When Sky5 arrived on the scene just before noon, the Redondo Beach Fire Department was on scene handling the blaze, though smoke continued to emanate from the vehicle, likely from the electric batteries. At least one person appeared to be hurt, though their condition was unknown.
