Agencies unite at Chico State for comprehensive emergency response training exercise

PHOTOS: Local law enforcement and first responder agencies collaborated in a training exercise at Chico State to prepare for real-life emergency scenarios on Monday. โ€œWhen you train together just like you would respond together, thatโ€™s how you really develop that preparedness in the moment,” said Chico Police Department Public Information Officer Kayla Gates.

Agencies that participated in the training at Chico State’s Whitney Hall included: Chico Police, Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Paradise Police, Oroville Police. Butte College Police, Butte County District Attorney’s Office, FBI, Cal Fire, Enloe, Butte County EMS, Butte County Public Health, Chico State Wellness Center, Butte College Nursing Program, and Chico Fire.

The training offered first responders practical, hands-on experience in responding to active threat situations. Participants engaged in realistic killer scenarios that simulate potential emergencies, enabling them to practice quick thinking skills. Additionally, the training focused on enhancing collaboration and communication among the different agencies, ensuring a cohesive response during crises.
